Wordpress : Cannot Edit themes at Theme Editor

You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information.

These are frequent problem appear to your Wordpress Installation. It appear that you do not have permission to write the files of your themes. In case to solve the problem, the idea is to CHMOD the files to 777. Here are the way to do so:

  1. Login into your File Manager ( via SmartFTP, Filezilla or Cpanel File Manager)
  2. Click Left to the required files and find the Permission Set
  3. Set the required files to 777 and save the files.

Required files are the files that you wanted to make them rewriteable. If you are thinking of editing the whole themes, it means that you need to CHMOD the entire theme files.
